Mixed-use developments are more than just a collection of buildings; they are vibrant communities that foster connections, stimulate economic growth and enhance quality of life. Over the past 15 years, Ci has been designing spaces that seamlessly integrate residential, retail, hospitality, office and public spaces.
A notable highlight of our mixed-use portfolio is the North Hills Main District Expansion in Raleigh, NC. This 2-million-square-foot mixed-use expansion of the North Hills Main District revitalized a previously underutilized area, transforming it into a dynamic hub of activity. By transforming underutilized parking areas into vertical spaces to live, work and play, Ci designed more efficiently, maximizing the use of available space. We’ve created an environment where residents and the public can connect, collaborate and unwind with pedestrian-friendly pathways, a concierge center and prominent outdoor gathering spaces. It’s a perfect example of how thoughtful design can transform a neighborhood.
Mixed-use developments come with unique challenges, from balancing the needs of various stakeholders to crafting cohesive designs that reflect community values. At Ci, we approach these challenges with creativity and a strong commitment to collaboration. Our goal is to create spaces that serve as vibrant community anchors, where every element — whether a café, office, hotel room or residential unit — feels purposeful and interconnected.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to continue shaping the neighborhoods of tomorrow by fostering inclusivity and enhancing the places where people live, work and gather.
