RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT FACILITIES
Our Research and Development design practice is focused on supporting the evolution of research. We work closely with our clients to address all the functional issues of lab planning and programming while also understanding the business goals that drive the success of our clients and their research.
Our team provides change-responsive research and development facilities that promote life safety, incorporate energy performance, and meet regulatory requirements. We understand the need for building design and infrastructure to support the demanding needs of researchers and engineers and the importance of integrating these specialized spaces with other facilities and processes. Team experience includes:
- wet and dry labs and support spaces including Class 10 to Class 100,000 clean rooms,
- control rooms and facilities for chemical storage, distribution and treatment, explosion deflagration where required, and
- specialized testing facilities incorporating anechoic chambers and other highly sensitive environmental testing equipment.
We know how to meet or exceed the regulatory requirements that must often be accommodated with these types of projects. Depending on the nature of the research, we will apply the necessary NIH, CDC, FDA, EPA, and NFPA regulations as required. And, whether a private or public corporation, college or university, government agency or contractor, we work with our clients to identify and incorporate the specific security requirements necessary to protect the research that is critical to their success. This may include SCIF Rooms, security command centers, man traps, or other customized security provisions.
