Project Update: Construction Begins at Country Bridge Shopping Center by ci design

ci design is pleased to announce the commencement of construction at Country Bridge Shopping Center in Lakeland, Tennessee. ci design is currently serving as architect for the renovation of the retail shopping center.

As part of the redesign at Country Bridge, owner A.J. & C. Garfunkel broke ground in late April on the new out-parcel building site located at the intersection of Highway 64 and Fletcher Trace Parkway. The 4,000 square foot pad building will accommodate two new retail tenants, a Starbucks Coffee and Marcos Pizza.

Additional improvements to the shopping center will include extensive facade redesign, the addition of LED lighting and signage, and new landscaped islands at the main entrances. The project is expected to be completed in late summer 2016.

Country Bridge Shopping Center is anchored by high-end grocer Sprouts Farmers Market, which replaced former tenant Kroger in the spring of 2015, and is currently home to more than 10 national and local tenants.

Expansion, Renovations Coming to Country Bridge Shopping Center by ci design

The city of Lakeland, Tennessee has approved the site plan and design for a new outparcel building and renovations at Country Bridge Shopping Center. 

Located at the entrance to the prestigious Lakeland community, at the intersection of Highway 64 and Fletcher Trace Parkway, the 64,221 square foot retail shopping center is set to begin exterior upgrades to provide a fresh look to the existing design. Renovation plans include extensive facade redesign, the addition of LED lighting and signage, and new landscaped islands to enhance the entrance.

Also included in the approved renovation is the addition of a new 4,000 square foot pad building. The free-standing building will accommodate two new retail tenants, including a Starbucks Coffee that has already committed to the project.

Country Bridge Shopping Center is anchored by high-end organic grocer Sprouts Farmers Market, which replaced former tenant Kroger in the spring of 2015. The marquee tenant occupies 28,000 square feet and was the first location for the brand in the Memphis market. Country Bridge is currently home to more than 10 national and local tenants, and is set to bring on the highly-anticipated natural and holistic pet food store, Hollywood Feed.

Charles Garfunkel of Savannah-based developer A.J. & C. Garfunkel said, "We are all very excited about what the future holds for Country Bridge. The arrival of new tenants in addition to the facade upgrades will allow the center to better serve the community of Lakeland."

The target completion date for the renovation is late summer 2016. ci design is serving as architect for this project.

Fresh Thyme will replace former tenant OfficeMax at Golden Gate Shopping Center in Mayfield Heights, Ohio

We are excited to announce the approval of design upgrades to the Golden Gate Shopping Center in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. The first phase will include the façade design and landlord fit-out of new anchor tenant Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, the first location in the Cleveland suburbs.
        
As part of the renovation of the 370,000 sf shopping center, Golden Gate Shopping Center, ci design is providing design services for the new 27,560 sf Fresh Thyme location. Fresh Thyme Farmers Market is a full-service specialty retailer focusing on value-priced fresh, healthy, natural and organic offerings, and is set to open 60 stores by 2019.  

“The city approvals of the architectural design review were an important step in the process to revitalize Golden Gate Shopping Center,” says Senior Project Architect Julie Kirsch. “Fresh Thyme will pull together the arrival of new tenants and additional renovations to the center.”

In an interview with GlobeSt.com, owner Daren Hornig of Hornig Capital explains his committment to revitalizing and "breathing fresh life and dynamic tenancy into [Golden Gate Shopping Center]." Hornig Capital partnered with Hutenksy Capital to purchase the center in 2014.

The new Fresh Thyme Farmers Market will replace former tenant OfficeMax and is expected to open to the public in winter 2015.
